Follow-Up Blues For An Entrepreneur!

Have you ever told someone to visit your website, only to follow up and find out that they never did? I have, and it can be quite frustrating.  I hear people tell me they never got a chance to see it.  On my follow up, I just ask: “I’m just curious.  Were you serious about earning an extra income or this opportunity, or were you just kidding?”  Most “liars” don’t like to get caught in a lie so easily and most “truthers” don’t like to be accused of being liars.  So, they will either confess that they weren’t interested in the first place or tell you they were serious but just didn’t have time.  If they are serious, your question will motivate them to check out your website or video just to prove their innocence. Either answer will allow you to save your precious time.

The Success of any Entrepreneur is in the follow-up! 80% of all prospects convert into customers after the 5th or 6th contact. Do you have a follow-up strategy in place?

STAY SAFE AT ATMs

Branch ATMs are monitored by security cameras, but it still helps to use common sense and these tips:

• Take a look around before walking up to the ATM, especially at night.
• Have your phone handy in case of an emergency.
• Don't go to an ATM or depository alone at night.
• If it seems dark, please let the establishment know so they can get some more lights out there.
• If there's a door to the ATM, make sure you close it.
• Don't let strangers into the ATM with you after the branch is closed.
• Keep your PIN a secret from everyone.  And make sure you memorize it, don't write it on your card or keep it in your wallet.
• Stand between the ATM machine and anyone else waiting and shield the numbers with your hand as you enter your PIN.
• Put your cash away immediately.  Don't count it if others can see you.
• If someone appears to be hanging around or you see anything suspicious,don't complete your transaction.  Use the Cancel key and report the incident to the local police or to 911.  Then try an ATM at another location.
• If it looks like someone is following you, drive to the nearest well-lit , populated area and report the incident to the local police.
• If someone approaches you and demands you money, just give it to them.  Try to remember everything you can about the person and call the police immediately.
• Report lost or stolen cards immediately.

Be - Do - Have!

"Most people believe that the formula for success is:  Be - Do - Have!  I have to have X, so I can do X, so I can be X.  Let me give you an example.  Every day I talk to people offering them a business opportunity that can change their lives.  Their response is often:  "Man, I don't have the money to start a business, or, I have to have all of these skills, or, I have to have time to do it, and so on, and so on.  The true fact is we don't need money to make money.  We don't need to have all of the necessary skills to run a successful business.  All we need to have is courage, belief, desire for success, persistence, and a vision of our dreams.

This is only an example of how people misunderstand the concept of Be - Do - Have.  Do just the opposite:  Have - Do - Be!

Born in Moberly, MO but raised in Illinois.  After graduating from high school, I attended Illinois State University, Normal, IL, majoring in Business Administration.  My education was interrupted by a 4-year trek into military service in the U.S.A.F.  Spent one year in the Republic of South Vietnam and I am a proud Vietnam Veteran.  After being honorably discharged, I worked as a Production All Lines Underwriter (Marketing Rep/Underwriter) in the insurance industry.  After 15 years as a Production Underwriter, I switched careers and went to work as a Civilian Federal Employee working Aviation Security at O’hare International Airport until I retired in 2013.  After retiring, I needed to find something to keep me active and motivated. Network Marketing became my passion.

Journey of a Network Marketer

Hi, My Friends.  My name is Aubrey “Bill” Harvey and I began my journey to Network Marketing about 9 months ago.  I retired a couple of years ago after many years as a Civilian Federal Employee.  I had a very rewarding career as a civil service employee and have no regrets.   I received my fair share of accolades along the way.  However, like most individuals that have worked most of their lives, retirement brings about a whole new set of circumstances.  For me, the big question was finding something that could fill the time up that had been used working 8, 10, 12 hours or more each day not including travel time.  The best part of retirement is having the freedom to use your time as you see fit without someone else dictating to you when you needed to be at your work location; how to perform your duties; when the tasks needed to be completed; and, how you could earn more money via overtime, promotion or bonuses.  Everything around working a job is subject to approval by the higher ups.  Well, after doing a little traveling and experiencing some things that I never had the time to experience while I was working, I found myself feeling bored.  I started searching for something that would light that fire deep down in my belly and drive me to do more. Thank goodness for modern technology and the internet.

I began looking at various opportunities on the internet and found that there were plenty of Direct Selling Companies operating worldwide.  I talked to family and friends to see what they knew about Network Marketing.  To my surprise, there were several that were involved in Network Marketing presently, and quite a few that stopped for their own personal reasons.  Once I let them know that I was interested in trying something, I was bombarded with all types of opportunities to look at and possibly join a team.  The very first thing I learned on this journey was to do my research and learn as much as I could about the pros and cons of Network Marketing.  Next, I realized that most of the opportunities presented had excellent products, systems of delivery, and compensation plans.  Finally, I knew that I needed to learn as much as I could from the various leaders in the Network Marketing Industry.  For two (2) months, I watched video after video on YouTube; read several books and articles; attended many conference calls from various opportunities; and, talked to many individuals who were already Network Marketers.  There were some questions that I needed to ask myself before I embarked on this journey:  1)  Why did I want to try Network Marketing?  2)  Do I have the time to work the opportunity?  3)  Was I truly a Team Player?, And, 4)  Was I financially prepared to join an opportunity?

I joined  four (4) opportunities that were free platforms that allowed me to learn the business from other entrepreneurs, develop an income stream to aid in financing my opportunity, and, gain leads to develop relationships and friendships with other entrepreneurs.  (MLM Gateway, Open Jacket Network, IBOTOOLBOX, and The Global Power Team)  Each has been extremely useful in giving me the motivation, training, and experience to grow as a Network Marketer.  Each has provided me with a means to grow my primary business into a profitable and extremely satisfying journey.
